Gloria Hyatt MBE

B.Ed (Hons) English and Physical Education, M.Ed, Education Management and Inclusive Education.

Gloria is a former Head Teacher who established the first, Independent School, nationally, within the voluntary sector primarily for Black and Racial Minority pupils (Elimu Academy- Liverpool). She also developed visionary, community led, education programmes for adults, children and young people regardless of racial heritage.

She is a Council Member for the General Teaching Council for England, an adviser for Communities and Local Government (NRU), founder of Teach Consultancy Ltd, Ebony Recruitment Solutions and a founding member of the Merseyside Campaign Against Racial Terrorism (CART). As a consultant she delivers nationally for Local Authorities, Schools, the FE and HE sector, Private, Public and Corporate Bodies.

She is a NLP practitioner and counsellor. She has considerable experience of influencing change, strategic and financial management, partnership brokerage, obtaining funding, inspection and quality assurance processes, capacity building and engagement. In recognition of her achievements she was awarded a Member of the British Empire (M.B.E.) for services to education and the Merseyside Women of the Year. Her accolades continued in 2004 when she was awarded the Women of Merit. She features in the book, 'Who's Who of Black Achievers' by the New Nation and the book 'Liverpool Black Pioneers' by Dr Ray Costello.
